Case of the al-Kurd family

The Greens/EFA Group condemns the eviction of the al-Kurd family and the recent destruction of houses of Palestinian families by the Israeli authorities in several areas of East Jerusalem; recalls that these operations are inhuman and are illegal under international law; calls the Israeli authorities to immediately put an end to settlement activities as well as to illegal evictions and house destructions in East Jerusalem.

Execution of child offenders in Iran

The Greens/EFA Group is shocked by the execution of the adolescent Mohammed Hassanzadeh at the age of 16. The Group reiterates its strong condemnation of the death penalty in general; calls for an immediate moratorium on executions in Iran and is appalled that Iran continues to have the highest number of executions of child offenders in the world and that the moratorium on stoning is still not fully implemented.

The Greens/EFA are outraged by the recent condemnation of the 13-year-old child Zhila Izadi to death by stoning after being found pregnant from her 15 year-old brother and calls on the Iranian authorities to immediately halt all attempts of stoning and to prevent any further application of the death penalty to minors.
