Le Groupe des Verts/ALE estime essentiel pour le développement démocratique du pays, l'engagement de l'Afghanistan en faveur des droits de l'Homme et notamment des femmes qui jouent un rôle crucial dans le développement du pays et qui doivent pouvoir bénéficier pleinement de leurs droits fondamentaux et démocratiques et réaffirme son soutien à la lutte contre toutes formes de discriminations, qu'elles soient religieuses ou sexuelles.

According to the United Nations the struggle against hunger and poverty will be lost from the start if the international community fails to strengthen women’s rights. The European Union should take the initiative and appoint a European envoy for women’s rights.The conference aims at broadening support for this initiative.
