Conclusion of the EU-Canada CETA

Greens/EFA motion for resolution

In their motion for resolution which was tabled on behalf of the Group, the Greens/EFA explain why they decline their consent to the conclusion of CETA.

Here are the reasons:

  1. CETA may undermine European democracy
  2. CETA may undermine European environmental standards and a green energy transition
  3. CETA may undermine European public welfare standards
  4. CETA may undermine European social standards
  5. CETA may undermine sustainable European agriculture
  6. CETA may undermine a forward-looking European industrial policy
