Inquiry committee on dieselgate

Hearings of EU Commissioners Bienkowska and Vella - 12 September 2016

On Monday, 12 September (7pm to 10.30pm, room Louise Weiss N1.3 in the European Parliament in Strasbourg) EU-Commissioner Elżbieta Bieńkowska, Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs and Karmenu Vella, Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, will speak in the Committee of Inquiry into Emission Measurements in the Automotive Sector (EMIS) in one of two extraordinary meetings during the European Parliament's plenary session in Strasbourg.

Greens/EFA MEPs will continue to ask questions about the European Commissions responsibility in the Dieselgate scandal and demand greater support from the European Commission in providing access to documents relevant to the inquiry.

Representatives of Bosch which is one of the leading automotive suppliers that supplies Engine Control Units for diesel engines, will be heard in EMIS on Thursday, 15 September (10am to 12am, room Winston Churchill WIC100 in the European Parliament in Strasbourg). Bosch is the company allegedly responsible for writing the defeat device software.

On Tuesday, 13 September, the European Parliament will debate the EMIS' interim report and vote on Wednesday.

Greens/EFA MEP Julia Reda will twitter during the hearings:
