OUR KEY DEMANDS
During this mandate, we have been building a world free of gender-based violence (GBV) in all its forms and with a focus on inclusivity.
We have spearheaded reports about adding gender-based violence into the list of European crimes, adopting a cyberviolence report, pushed for a resolution on #MeToo, and fiercely campaigned for a European Commission proposal for a directive against GBV.
As the Parliament is formulating its position on the Commission’s proposal, we will relentlessly continue our work on the GBV directive in the EP, determined to make this moment in feminist history even more inclusive and effective.
We want to continue our successful engagement of audiences on GBV topics in Member States, making connections between this personal issue and feminist and inclusive solutions, which can address it.
Both in the European Parliament and with Green parties across the EU, we are strong advocates and for LGBTIQ+ rights and equality.
Our sustained collaboration with our sibling organizations, such as EGP, FYEG, GEF and the LGBTI Intergroup, help us to cement the Green leadership on the topic.
Through sustained legislative work and by engaging in LGBTIQ+- specific actions and events, such as international days and pride weeks, we are loud and proud in engaging in the topic from different perspectives.
Defending abortion and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) is rooted in protecting bodily autonomy and fundamental rights within and beyond EU borders.
We are calling to add abortion in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and to ensure that SRHR are supported and defended by EU - both internally and externally.
We work side by side with NGOs, human rights defenders, social movements and green actors - especially in Member States where activism is becoming increasingly risky.
