The Greens/EFA Group in the European Parliament has decided to open the procedure for filling 3 posts of Political Attaché - Stakeholder Engagement (PG) as Temporary Agents in its Secretariat in Brussels (Grade AST 4). The Greens/EFA Group is recruiting for the following profiles: 1 for Climate and Nature, 1 for Democracy and Fundamental Rights and 1 for Social Justice. NATURE OF THE FUNCTION AND PROFILE

The Stakeholder Engagement Officers fulfil a supranational function within the Greens/EFA Group Secretariat and assist Greens/EFA Members of the European Parliament in carrying out their duties, particularly as regards stakeholder engagement and network-building.

Tasks to be performed:

  • Create and use opportunities to bring our politicians closer to the ground, amplify the voices of the people we seek to defend, and strengthen the capacity of our partners to talk about our political priorities in an engaging way;
  • Design, implement and evaluate stakeholder engagement strategies in close coordination with the Greens/EFA MEPs, delegations and bureau, under the supervision of the Stakeholder Engagement and Outreach Team Leader;
  • Develop systems to ensure dynamic and continuous mapping of relevant stakeholders, regular needs assessments and continuous monitoring and evaluation to identify lessons learned;
  • Support the Stakeholder Engagement and Outreach Team Leader, management team and Secretary General in the preparation of the political planning of the group, and in the identification of upcoming opportunities in a timely manner, making sure to gather and transmit the inputs from relevant stakeholders and MEPs in order to suggest next steps for political consideration;
  • Engage in synergic planning with the Group’s political partners, notably the European Green Party, the Federation of Young European Greens (FYEG) and the Green European Foundation;
  • Responsible for the planning, execution and reporting on the annual budget for engagement with stakeholders, as well as related administrative tasks and the strategic usage of our CRM.

 

Qualifications, experience and desired skills requested:

  • Qualifications and professional experience as laid down in heading III. B. 1;
  • Knowledge of languages as set out in heading III. B. 2;
  • Excellent analytical and drafting skills including the ability to gather, organise and analyse multiple inputs into clear and concise texts that are tailored to different stakeholders;
  • Strong networking skills, and proven experience of fostering links with relevant social movements, civil society groups and key stakeholders;
  • Experience in project management and an ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-sensitive environment, managing multiple requests and projects at the same time;
  • Good knowledge of the European institutions, knowledge of EU policies relevant to the role and experience in using these policies as mobilisation opportunities;
  • Knowledge of Green/EFA positions, values and political orientation.

 

Assets

  • Experience in developing stakeholder engagement plans in a political setting;
  • Forward-thinking and experience in strategic planning to identify upcoming opportunities well ahead of time;
  • Educational background in line with the function;
  • Capacity to work smoothly in a team, including strong communication and information-sharing, ability to problem-solve and open-mindedness to brainstorm new ideas and learn from past experience;
  • Experience working in the European Parliament or in a political environment and in a multicultural workplace.

Place of employment

Brussels (Belgium). Occasional travel outside the place of work might be required, in particular several days per month to Strasbourg during the plenary session and to other Member States for short trips.
