Fireside chat with Robert Habeck
Robert’s three-year term in the German federal government was marked by crisis-ridden upheavals right from its start in December 2021: The Covid-19 pandemic with its severe social and economic consequences had not yet been overcome. Putin launched his brutal war against Ukraine, provoking a looming energy crisis and skyrocketing living costs. It goes without saying that rapid progress in the ecological transformation was a top priority from the outset. The government ultimately collapsed in December 2024 due to irreconcilable differences within the three-party-coalition, a prominent example of which is the Liberals’ blockade of a reform of the debt brake.
We look forward to talking to Robert about his experiences and lessons learned from his time in government and the challenges and tasks he sees for the German Greens and the wider Green family.
