EU TECH STARS SUMMIT

These days, very large non-EU tech platforms are used as a powerful vector to influence our voting preferences and sneak in our privacy to ultimately interfere in our democracy and bring about regime change in Europe. But the status quo doesn’t have to be maintained.

As Greens/EFA policymakers, we meet every day with innovative tech companies which develop tech solutions centred on the EU core values of democracy, transparency and privacy. Together, they form a vibrant landscape of innovative tech companies which deliver high-quality services that strengthen our digital sovereignty and cater to real community needs: safe data transmission and storage, no-black box algorithms, participative democracy, search engines, AI applications but also European voices in chips and cloud.

These European tech businesses - aka the EU tech stars - prove that the EU ecosystem is real and very much active. But in order to scale and strive, they need a competitive and innovative-driven environment, instead of a deregulation agenda combined with a lack of enforcement of existing rules.

Join us in the European Parliament for the EU Tech Stars Summit on 5 February 2026, and meet
the European tech ecosystem that champions the Union’s core values and principles of
democracy, privacy and transparency.
