Risk assessment on GM crops is a controversy subject in the European Union. EFSA is now about to publish its guidelines for a new procedure for GMO risk assessment, the so-called «step-by-step procedure». Greens/EFA MEPs Bélier and Bové have commissioned a study on this new procedure by an independent institute.
