Job Opening: Audiovisual officer

Contractual agent, FG III, 1 year

The Greens/EFA Group in the European Parliament Group seeks a creative Audiovisual (AV) expert to join its Communication Strategy team in Brussels. This role will involve working closely with our audiovisual team, as well as Green/EFA MEPs, staff and assistants, to develop regular video material for sharing on the Group’s digital channels.

Description of the function

This role involves video and multimedia project creation, editing, and databasing of all audiovisual content, from conception to end-delivery. Creating audiovisual and multimedia content through editing software is required. Working with third parties to deliver audio-visual projects will be a regular feature of the work. The role will involve testing and analysing all our audio-visual products, researching how our content is perceived and digested, as well as developing strategies for audio-visual content that can engage audiences in a way that will make an impact. Such work will feed into the Group’s overall political and communication strategy. The role will focus on:

  • Video production and content creation: Film, produce, edit, and publish video, audio, and graphic content related to the work of the Greens/EFA MEPs and Group; develop visuals and video content for social media and advertising projects; coordinate AV projects with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Content and platform management: Manage AV assets across internal systems, the Group’s website, and online channels; maintain website content related to AV products. 
  • Audiovisual support: Provide AV support and advice to the wider Communications team, Stakeholders and Outreach unit, MEP offices and Group staff; maintenance of AV technical equipment when required 
  • Brand and quality control: Ensure all AV content created by the Group follows the Group’s visual identity and quality standards; stay up to date with new trends and new technologies in the AV area to ensure we are at the cutting-edge when it comes to delivering our communications products.
  • Performance and optimization: Monitor content performance and help improve audience reach and engagement, in coordination with the social media team.

 

Profile

To fill this key position within the Greens/EFA Group Secretariat, we are looking for an excellent team player who is open-minded, proactive, and comfortable working in a multicultural environment, and who is familiar with the values of the Greens/EFA Group.

Requirements

Candidates must have: 

  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in line with the role;
  • Very good knowledge of English and of at least one other EU language;
  • Experience in video production using professional camera and audio equipment; 
  • Experience creating different content for online platforms, including short-form content, particularly for Instagram and TikTok;
  • Good video and audio editing skills;
  • Sound design and audio mixing experience;
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and good working knowledge of After Effects or similar software;
  • Experience with graphic design, animation and short form and micro content;
  • Strong understanding of platform-native storytelling, including tone, pacing, and visual language adapted to online audiences;
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and creative development skills. 

 

Assets
Demonstrating (one of) the following competencies will be considered an asset:

  • Knowledge of the European institutions, EU legislation and decision-making process
  • Knowledge of the Greens/EFA group and its functioning
  • Educational background in line with the function
  • Other graphic and film-related software knowledge
  • Studio photography experience

 

Under article 82, (3) of the Conditions of Employment of Other Servants (CEOS) of the European Communities, candidates must:

  • Be citizen of an EU Member State unless an exception is authorised by the authority referred to in article 6 (1);
  • Enjoy full rights as citizen;
  • Have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the laws concerning military service;
  • Meet the character requirements for the duties involved.

 

Salary and other benefits

This is a fixed-term contract as a contractual agent, Function Group III, renewable until the end of the mandate.

The indicative basic salaries grid is:

The precise grade is determined by the services of the European Parliament on the basis of professional experience, supported by appropriate documentation.

In addition to the basic salary, various allowances may be granted depending on the candidate’s personal situation (household allowance, expatriation allowance, child allowance, etc.). These allowances are determined by the services of the European Parliament.

The successful candidate will also benefit from the Joint Sickness Insurance Scheme of the European Union.
