Former EU-Commissioners Günter Verheugen and Antonio Tajani will speak at the next EMIS hearings. As Commissioner for industry and entrepreneurship from 2004 to 2010 Günter Verheugen was in charge of the legislation on controversially discussed Regulation (EC) No. 715/2007 on type approval of motor vehicles. He will present his views and answer questions of the Members of the European Parliament on Tuesday, 30 August at 3pm (PHS 3C050).
Peter Lakin, Vice President, Sales, Programs and Marketing, of Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies, will join the hearing as well. Faurecia is one of the top ten global automotive equipment suppliers, providing, amongst others, Emissions Control Technologies. Faurecia is a leader in exhaust after treatment technologies that reduce NOx particulates and other pollutants that are detrimental to human health.
Former EU-Commissioner and Vice-President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani will speak at the hearing on Monday, 5 September at 3pm (PHS 1A002). Antonio Tajani was EU-Commissioner for Industry and Entrepreneurship from 2009 to 2014. MEPs will raise questions about scientists of the European Joint Research Centre already in the year 2007 found out that real nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions were many times higher than the results of laboratory tests.
Janez Potočnik, EU-Commissioner for the Environment from 2010 to 2014, will join the hearing as well.
