EFA Group welcomes new MEP

Press release from the European Free Alliance (EFA) MEPs

The European Free Alliance (EFA) Group in the European Parliament has welcomed Piernicola Pedicini as a new independent member.

Piernicola Pedicini joined the Greens/EFA in December 2020 and has now been welcomed to the EFA component of the group.

The European Free Alliance (EFA) draws together progressive regionalist, autonomist and pro-independence parties working for a more diverse Europe, where linguistic and cultural rights, the right to self-determination for stateless nations and the rights of minorities are respected.

Since 1999, EFA has formed a common parliamentary group with Europe's Greens based on a common programme and shared priorities.

President of the EFA Group in the European Parliament, Jordi Solé commented:

"I want to warmly welcome Piernicola to the European Free Alliance. He has already been a part of our Greens/EFA family for some time, and now it's a pleasure to have him join us in EFA.

"We have many shared interests and overlapping priorities, and we are looking forward to working together over the coming years."

Piernicola Pedicini commented:

"I'm very pleased to join The European Free Alliance. The vision for a better Union needs decisive actions and a clear vision for a new European social fabric, based on the pillars that will foster true change such as a sustainable planet, the promotion of the fight for peoples' self determination and social justice.

"I believe that EFA has always been at the forefront of these battles and I am honored to be part of it."
