The Kurdish Friendship Group in the European Parliament, the Representations of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) in Europe, and the International Alliance for the Defence of Rights and Freedoms (AIDL) are holding an international conference on 11-12 December 2019 entitled North and East Syria/Rojava: A Regional and Global Litmus Test at the European Parliament in Brussels.

The conference is sponsored by the Greens/European Free Alliance (Greens/EFA) and the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) Groups in the European Parliament .

This conference will focus on the current situation in North-east Syria/Rojava, and on the implication of the Turkish state in it.

The five panels will be an opportunity to exchange about:

  • Turkey's Strategy of Invasion, Occupation and Ethnic Cleansing in Middle East Region
  • Turkish State Policy, Regional and Global Threat – Jihadist Militias in action and The risk of their returning to Europe
  • The International Legal and Human Rights Implications of the Turkish State’s Expansionism
  • The Political Inviolability of the Turkish State
  • Holding the Turkish state accountable
