GMO free regions at risk?

The European Commission wants to introduce a new law for genetically modified (GM) plants engineered with “new genomic techniques”. It wants to make it easier for these GM plants to be sold and grown within the EU. The proposal has been announced for the second quarter of 2023.

What does this mean for the protection of our health and the environment? Will the new legislation undermine the EU’s precautionary principle?

What does it mean for the freedom of choice of farmers, retailers and consumers? What will be the impact on GMO free regions?

Please join us for a three-hour event on 17 November 2022 from 10:00 to 13:00 for a discussion with stakeholder from the agri-food sector, NGOs, scientists as well as Members of the European Parliament and the European GMO-free Regions.
