Who should have the right to fish?

Public hearing on the reform of the Common Fisheries Policy

Greens believe that the right to catch fish carries responsibilities, that men and women who are allowed to fish need to fulfil certain criteria - including minimising the impact on the marine environment and providing as many jobs as possible. Those who have fished in the past should not automatically have the right to continue in the future.

Participation of Commissioner Maria Damanaki (to be confirmed), fishermen from several Member States, NGOs, officials from the Member States.

Co-organised by MEPs Isabella Lövin, Raül Romeva i Rueda and Jean-Paul Besset
