New EU Commission

EPP, Socialists and Liberals don't know what to say about the Barroso II Commission

The three biggest groups in the European Parliament today decided not to table a resolution on the Barroso II Commission to coincide with the Parliament vote on the designates next Tuesday in Strasbourg. Greens/EFA, GUE and ECR are maintaining their resolutions.

Commenting on this unprecedented event, Rebecca Harms and Dany Cohn-Bendit, Co-Presidents of the Greens/EFA group in the European parliament said:

"The EPP, Socialists and Liberals are apparently unable or unwilling to make a coherent political judgement of the incoming Barroso II Commission. This is the end of politics. Parliament's three biggest groups seem to be only interested in their backroom deals and sharing out the Commission posts between themselves."
