Reaction to Antoine Deltour ruling from Benedek Jávor

LuxLeaks

The Luxembourg Court of Appeal has today ruled on the case of Antoine Deltour. The Court has acknowledged his status as a whistleblower but gave him a “suspension du prononcé” for downloading documents related to the LuxLeaks, for which he receives a €1 fine.

Please see below a reaction from Greens/EFA transparency spokesperson Benedek Jávor:
"We're pleased that Antoine's ordeal is finally at an end. The court has again confirmed Antoine's status as a legitimate whistleblower, a final vindication of his actions. Alongside Raphael Halet and Edouard Perrin, Antoine has been dragged through the courts for years, an appalling response to their brave decision to bring a major tax scandal to public attention. No whistleblower should ever have to face this kind of ordeal again and we will work hard to make sure the European Commission's recent proposals are turned into robust and wide-reaching legislation."
