Omnibus I: EU sustainability and Due diligence legislation
Today, MEPs have just endorsed the Omnibus I trilogue agreement concluded last week.
Kira Peter Hansen MEP, Vice-President of the Greens-EFA and negotiator on the file, comments:
"With the adoption of Omnibus I, the Conservatives has chosen to roll back key sustainability safeguards for companies. At its core, this is a political decision to weaken environmental and human rights standards, and it will harm both people and the planet."
"For one and a half years now, we Greens have offered the EPP cooperation, stability and reliability. We have been open, constructive and willing to compromise.
Today's vote shows that this offer was ultimately rejected in favour of deregulation and a majority built together with the extreme right."

The Omnibus I concerns three fundamental pieces of legislation: The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and the EU Taxonomy Regulation.
