MEPs clear path for Parliament to sue Commission over releasing funds to Hungary

Members of the Legal Affairs Committee have voted in favour of the Parliament taking the Commission to the European Court of Justice over the release of 10.2 billion EUR in funds to Hungary; the Parliament will file the case in the coming days.

Greens/EFA welcome agreement on 50 billion aid package for Ukraine and call for revoking Viktor Orbán's voting rights

EU leaders have just got their act together and understood that Orbán only reacts to pressure. The good news is that the financial aid Ukraine so urgently needs will finally be paid out, and the country will be able to continue its fight against Russian aggression.

Commission proposals welcome but not enough to steer EU through crises

Today, the European Commission has just presented two proposals, one on the revision of the Multiannual Financial Framework, the EU’s seven year budget, and the other amending the so-called Own Resources enhancing the EU’s ability to raise funds directly, rather than via Member States budgetary contributions.

Agreement on budget shows focus in times of crises

Negotiators from the European Parliament, Council and Commission reached an agreement on the EU's budget for 2023. The Greens/EFA Group have managed to ensure increased support for measures aimed at dealing with the war in Ukraine, the energy crisis and the climate crisis.
