Combating the energy crisis with renewables & energy savings

Members of the European Parliament will vote on the European Parliament position on the revision of the Renewable Energy Directive and on the Energy Efficiency Directive. Debriefing of the July plenary session

Food cannot be fuel for Europe’s aeroplanes

The European Parliament will vote on an expanded definition of Sustainable Aviation Fuels or “SAFs”, which includes unsustainable feedstocks such as palm oil distillate and some food crops. The expanded definition is opposed by major European airlines, several Member States, and the Greens/EFA Group.

Fit For 55: European Parliament rejects severely weakened Emission Trading System

MEPs from the Greens/EFA Group along with a progressive majority have successfully voted down a considerably weakened position on the EU Emissions Trading System, following efforts of the EPP Group and industry lobbies. The ETS file will now go back to the Environment Committee.

MEPs vote to end combustion engine by 2035

The automotive sector can, and should be one of the fastest sectors to decarbonise. The solutions are there and manufacturers are already racing to invest. The industry needs certainty. The European Parliament has shown clear support for the car industry to go fully electric by 2035.
