Biomass

Biomass is another technology that has the potential to product cost effective Renewable Energy in the short term. It is a "sleeping giant" in term of renewable energy source.

Recent research suggest that energy from Biomass can play a significant role in reducing CO2 emissions and reducing energy imports. A number of field analyses suggest that it may be economically feasible to save around 400 million tonnes of CO2 per year in 2030 by using energy from Biomass. This equates to around 9% of 1990 emissions.

But energy from biomass had so far failed to meet expectations.
