EP committee chairs
Greens to chair development and human rights committees
Final votes to appoint chairs and vice-chairs of European Parliament committees were held today. Results were largely as anticipated, with the exception of the non-election of Marta Andreasen as vice-chair of the budget control committee - a candidacy that the Greens/EFA Group had not opposed. Following the result Ms. Andreasen proposed Belgian Green MEP Bart Staes as an alternative candidate for the vice-chair position, a suggestion supported unanimously by the committee.
