MEPS demand ban on extreme greenhouse gases

The European Parliament has voted to end Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases, or F-gases, extreme greenhouse gases that are often many thousands of times stronger than CO2. These gases are found in refrigerators, air conditioners, heat pumps or the high-voltage grid, among other things.

A great victory for consumers and the environment

The European Parliament gave the final green light on the common charger. The common charger will introduce the USB-C as standard charging cable for everything from mobile phones to laptops and e-readers. This is a triumph for the environment as well as a triumph for consumers

Worldwide around 25 million people are estimated to be in forced labour, being made to work against their will under threat of punishment. The products they make can end up in the European market, making European citizens unwillingly consumers of and contributors to this exploitation. This has to stop!

Agreement on a common charger reached

This agreement seals the deal: In two years consumers in the EU will finally be able to charge all their mobile phones, tablets and digital cameras with the same USB-C charging cable. This will save resources, protect the environment and support consumers.
