    Failure to set shared objectives undermines common fisheries policy

    The European Parliament has voted in favour of a report on the conservation of fishery resources and protection of marine ecosystems. While Green MEPs backed the successful attempt to include a ban on pulse fishing, the Greens voted against the report, which fails to establish common objectives at an EU level.

    Disappointing result for consumer rights

    The European Parliament has just voted on an objection to Commission proposals that would allow phosphates to be used as additives in products such as donor kebabs. The objection, which was co-tabled by Greens/EFA MEP Bart Staes, fell just short of the required absolute majority.

    Greens/EFA group calls for Special Committee on pesticide authorisation

    At today's Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament, the Greens/EFA group will call for the establishment of a special committee to investigate the handling of the assessment process for pesticides. The call for a special committee follows negotiations with the S&D and GUE/NGL groups.

    Show your support! The Białowieża forest is all that remains of an ancient forest that once stretched across lowland Europe. Illegal logging by the Polish government has led to 180,000 trees being felled this year. The European Court of Justice has ruled that Poland must stop the logging immediately.
