Greens/EFA call for development of key strategic industries as a competitive advantage for the EU

The Greens/EFA Group welcomes the Net Zero Industry Act, which will reinforce the industrial plan of the Green Deal and create jobs in the climate-neutral industry. However, some aspects of the proposal remain questionable, such as the emphasis on CO2 storage as a mature net-zero technology for our 2030 climate commitments.

Fossil Alliance fails to crush climate action but more ambition needed

Members of the European Parliament have voted in favour of the mandates for the negotiations on the European Emission Trading System (ETS), the Carbon Border Adjustment System (CBAM), and the Social Climate Fund. The Greens/EFA welcome the compromise, even though it is not enough to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees.
