Deal on stricter air pollution limits: A bitter-sweet victory

The Parliament and the Council have reached an agreement on the Air Quality Directive, which sets new EU-wide action to reduce pollution limits up to 2.5 times lower than current targets by 2030. However, the deal falls short of the limits recommended by the World Health Organisation.

Catalonia's Water Crisis: A sobering call for Climate action

There’s still time to push back against throwaway culture

The European Parliament voted on its position on the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation ahead of the trilogue negotiations. Although the Parliament did not back some of the most ambitious measures proposed by the Commission, this marks the beginning of the pushback against the disposable giants.

MEPs vote in favour of harmful emission standards for motor vehicles

A majority of conservative, right-wing and liberal Members of the European Parliament voted in favour of weak emission standards for motor vehicles (Euro 7 standard). The Euro standards set standards for pollutant emissions such as particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide from cars, buses and trucks.
