No green light from Greens/EFA - CAP reform is set to again fail farmers, climate & environment
The majority of MEPs voted in favour of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) for 2023-2027. Rather than using this next CAP period, and one third of the EU budget, to help solve the climate and environment emergency, or the loss of thousands of farmers per day, the final agreement repackages the status quo and falls short of the promises of the Green Deal.
EU must stand in solidarity against Belarusian regime
Today, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, the leader of the democratic opposition in Belarus will address Members of the European Parliament at 12:00. The Greens/EFA Group are calling for the EU’s unequivocal support for the democratic opposition and independent civil society in Belarus. The Greens/EFA Group condem the instrumentalisation of refugees and migrants at the EU’s borders by the illigitame regime of Belarus. Later today, Greens/EFA MEPs will meet with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.
Stop the greenwashing of nuclear power and gas!
While the negotiations of the EU’s “Fit-for-55” climate package are in progress, a fatal decision is looming. The climate neutrality and sustainability of Europe's energy supply is at stake. Specifically: New nuclear and gas power plants are to be classified as “sustainable investments”. This would mean that gas and nuclear energy would be painted green and cash floodgates would be opened for these energy sources. It would send the EU’s climate and energy policy on a completely wrong path!

New EU deforestation law could fail to protect our precious ecosystems
The Commission just adopted a proposal to stop deforestation. But this new deforestation law is all bark and no bite. It continues to threaten biodiversity and ecosystems worldwide, and EU products continue to be complicit in environmental destruction.
