    Greens/EFA Group welcomes focus on climate but needs to see action

    Commission President Ursula von der Leyen presented the proposal for the new European Commission. Greens/EFA welcome the clear commitment from the Commission President to the Green Deal for the new Commission but are concerned about the Member States failing to live up to their promises and reach gender equality.

    EU expected to ban products made with forced labour

    Members of the European Parliament will debate the “Regulation on Prohibiting products made with forced labour on the EU market”. The plenary vote will take place tomorrow.     Greens/EFA call for adoption of the platform workers directive

    MEPs will debate the need to overcome the Council deadlock on the platform workers directive. It is estimated that at least 4 million people working through digital labour platforms are misclassified as self-employed instead of employees, allowing platforms to evade labour, tax and social security legislation that apply to employees.
