Ban the bulb

The Greens' written declaration for an immediate ban on the sale of incandescent light bulbs in the EU, got eventually 193 signatures from the MEPs. It is less than the 393 necessary for the adoption by the European Parliament. Clearly non-green MEPs like to speak about climate change but fail to act concretely!

CO2 emissions

In a paper published by the US National Academy of Science, scientists reveal that the worldwide CO2 emissions rose at a faster rate in 2000-2004 than in the worst-case scenario of the UN reports on climate. The study also notes a reversal of the trend towards greater energy efficiency and lower carbon working seen in the 1990s.
